MAKE HOUSE AS HOME
This is a Response to the Kekerasan Seksual wikithon
Sexual violence often occurs around us, caused by various factors such as weak law enforcement and lack of awareness and education. Efforts to prevent sexual violence are to create a safe space in the family environment. Safe spaces are important because they provide protection from the threat of sexual violence, both physical and psychological, and help victims feel safer.
Safe spaces can prevent sexual violence. So that our families do not become victims or perpetrators by providing an overview of the bad stigma of society towards perpetrators of sexual violence and the victims themselves and the impact they get will be worse for their future and mental health. This can also be strengthened by the teachings of the religion we adhere to so that our families can be more aware and afraid to do something that deviates from the norm.
The family environment is also important because many victims are judged and instead of getting a safe place they are accused of being the cause of their harassment.
The responsibility to create a safe space lies in our hands. Victims also need a supportive environment, because they are often afraid to speak up because of the stigma. For that, we need to communicate openly without judging and provide education about the bad impacts of sexual violence on victims and perpetrators on the people around us.
